Holy Environment

Today is the Feast of St. Boniface, the apostle to Germany. He is most noted for his conversion of thousands of people to Christianity by chopping down and Oak tree that symbolized a pagan god to the people.  He taught them as he does us today, nature praises God with its beauty and strength, but nature is not God.  Today is also the United Nations World  Environment  Day. How fitting that both feasts are on the same day. How is our personal environment? Is our environment praising God? Or do we try to make our environment a god by filling it with material things? Is it cluttered with  things so that God is not even thought of? Let us ask Mary immaculate to help us with our personal environment to make it like her environment – full of Grace. When Mary said "My soul proclaims the glory of God" she said it all, for all of us. O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.

  1. I have a tiny garden in my backyard filled with flowers and a chair, so that I can enjoy the beauty that God has provided. I also have two statues: Our Lady of Grace and St Francis of Assisi...both remind me of the simplicity of life as well as how I can be a more humble person and live in God's presence.
